Find Purpose and Alignment

Perpetual Grit was not built in comfort.

I did not grow up with stability. I experienced seasons of poverty, homelessness, and uncertainty at an early age. Structure was not handed to me. I had to find it.

Sports gave me discipline. Standards gave me direction. Accountability gave me confidence. Those habits changed the trajectory of my life.

Over the next two decades, I led in some of the most demanding environments in the U.S. military. I completed the military’s most challenging Survival School, graduated from Ranger School, Military Free Fall, Airborne, and Air Assault, flew Apache helicopters with over 1,000 combat hours, and later became an Air Force Special Tactics Officer serving inside Special Operations.

I deployed four times, commanded units in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other high-risk environments, and served alongside the 75th Ranger Regiment. I ultimately commanded the 17th Special Tactics Squadron, a Tier 1 special operations unit where discipline, composure, and judgment are non-negotiable.

In 2022, I received the Lance P. Sijan Award at the Air Force level, recognizing leadership, character, and commitment to the highest standards of service.

But credentials are not the reason Perpetual Grit exists.
It exists because I understand what happens when young people lack structure and what becomes possible when they gain it.

The same principles that build elite teams under pressure build confident, disciplined young men and women.
Strength is built.
Confidence is trained.
Character is forged through challenge.
That is the foundation of Perpetual Grit.

WHY THIS MATTERS

I did not grow up with advantages. I grew up in poverty, in an environment where abuse, instability, and drugs were common. Structure was inconsistent. Stability was not guaranteed. What I learned early was that no one was
coming to save me.

Through discipline, hard choices, and relentless effort, I earned the opportunity to serve with some of the most elite forces in the world. Those years taught me that grit is not something you are born with—it is something you build, one decision at a time.

BACKGROUND

I am a Special Operations officer with over twenty years of leadership experience in high-pressure environments where preparation, composure, and accountability determine outcomes. I have led teams where standards mattered, details mattered, and mindset mattered—especially when conditions were far from ideal.

Perpetual Grit exists to pass those lessons on in a responsible, age-appropriate way—not to create soldiers, but to help young people build strength, confidence, and resilience early.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe confidence is earned through preparation and consistency—not motivation or hype. My role as a coach is to provide structure, hold standards, and teach students how to respond when things get hard. Training is intentional, disciplined, and focused on long-term development.

WHAT PARENTS CAN EXPECT

• Small group coaching with individual attention
• Clear standards for behavior, effort, and movement quality
• A disciplined, respectful training environment
• Emphasis on safety, accountability, and growth

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

• How to train with purpose and discipline
• How to stay composed under fatigue and pressure
• How to build confidence through consistent effort
• How to apply grit and accountability beyond the gym

Perpetual Grit is built on the belief that background does not determine destiny. Standards, discipline, and consistency do.
